Ram Khanal, Dhan Poudel, Anil Bista and Govinda Dahal joined with metropolitan players in the Thunder Nation Cup.
“It was a great opportunity for our boys to play a higher level of cricket,” Khanal said.
“It was the first time for some guys they’ve played in a formal competition, and was the highest level any of us have played.”
Eight teams tackled the event, including the powerful Indian combination.
“We did pretty well, we didn’t get bowled out,” Khanal said.
“It’s a seven-over competition and we made 65, but they chased that down.”
The Bhutanese line-up also fell to Bangladesh and Afghanistan.
“It was a great learning experience for the boys,” Khanal said.
“It was great to play a game we love and spread the messages of unity and multiculturalism.”
