Ms McLennan, 23, died in hospital three days after the head-on smash at Lilliput.
She had been travelling on the Rutherglen-Springhurst Road when her car was struck by an oncoming BMW.
A man has been charged and will face Wangaratta Magistrates Court on February 9.
It is unclear what offences the man has been charged with.
The incident had been investigated by police at the Major Collision Investigation Unit in Brunswick.
Ms McLennan’s death deeply affected many people in the region.
The emergency and critical care nurse had donated her organs to five people in her final act.
Speaking in July, her sister Kristy said she still struggled with her death.
“There is an emptiness within my heart which can never be filled,” she said.
“She is irreplaceable and I'd do anything to bring her back.”
