The Watson Street building was targeted several times at the weekend.
Police believe a group of three people were involved and caused a damage and a clean-up bill worth several thousand dollars.
Detective Sergeant Graeme Simpfendorfer said fire extinguishers had been sprayed inside the property and said the offending was pointless.
“It’s pretty disgusting behaviour, really, for a community hall to be targeted in this way,” he said.
“It’s just senseless.
“Time and time again we’re seeing these senseless crimes occur.
“We’ll catch up with them very quickly I’m sure.”
The offenders, who are thought to be aged in their teens or early 20s, first targeted the building on Friday.
They returned several times over the weekend.
A buttock print was left on the front window of the building, which could be clearly seen after forensic police examined the site and dusted for fingerprints.
The offenders had tried to gain access to the building through the front door but were unsuccessful.
Once they made their way inside, the property was damaged and a television was stolen.
Detective Sergeant Simpfendorfer said police had spoken to witnesses but were seeking further public assistance.
“We're appealing for these three persons to come forward,” he said.
“It's only a matter of time before we will identify them completely and will be knocking on their doors.
“If there are any witnesses who saw what happened, we're encouraging them to come forward as well.”
The building, which is in a residential area, is used for classes including yoga and meditation.
Police believe the offenders returned to the site several times, knowing it would be empty.
“There's clearly no regard for the community's property,” Detective Sergeant Simpfendorfer said.
