Jumping Ship was penned by Michael Traill and tells how he went from a job at Macquarie Bank, the so-called millionaires’ factory, to work in social enterprise.
Wangaratta-born Mr Traill recalls in the book that when he started at the bank his salary was 20 per cent higher than what his father received as a high school principal.
But after becoming disillusioned with the big end of town, Mr Traill opted to move into social enterprise.
His work has included turning ABC childcare centres into the Goodstart Early Learning operation.
The Albury launch, which follows similar events in Brisbane and Melbourne, will be at the Library-Museum from 6pm Wednesday.
Member for Indi Cathy McGowan will introduce Mr Traill with the event hosted by ABC radio’s Gaye Pattison.
More detail is available from Bill Traill, phone (02) 6021 1437.
