Santa was set to make a special appearance at Albury’s QEII Twilight Market on Thursday to officially light the city’s Christmas tree.
South of the border, Wodonga’s Junction Place was also lit up for the festival season.
Wangaratta joined in the spirit this week, installing Christmas ornaments on light towers in the CBD, Ovens Riverside Precinct and fountain roundabout.
Mayor Ken Clarke was a fan of the ornaments, saying they created a “wonderful festive atmosphere”. “Decorating the streets brings the spirit of Christmas right to the centre of the city, adding to the festive window displays and diverse offerings our retail sector has,” he said.
