Not psychic Maria Campbell though.
“I have said this for many years that every 12 months everyone wants to know what I come up with for the following year and I just start to tune in from August on,” she said.
“Why do I bother, well people need to know what’s going to happen so they can prepare themselves for the unexpected.”
Ms Campbell, 64, has a sure faith in her forecasting, believing she inherited her dad’s psychic flair as a child.
“I enjoy my work because I’ve grown up with it,” she said.
“I’ve been involved with it all my life, since I was three.
“Even when I was at boarding school in Forbes I stunned the nuns, so it’s not out of my league.
“My message to the sceptics is accept me for who I am, not who they want me to be.
“I’ve got no time for people who make fun of people or pull people down.”
Ms Campbell cited the election of Derryn Hinch to federal parliament as her big success in 2016, showing off an article from the Geelong Advertiser predicting he would be a politician.
Five years ago the Tangambalanga card reader forecast to The Border Mail that actress Lindsay Lohan would not have a long life.
“She’s still with us, but she needs a lot of help,” Ms Campbell said.
“I do feel it will be an accident, not intentional.
“I think Boy George and Bryan Ferry are going to go and also Elliott Gould, Roger Moore, Val Kilmer and Alan Alda.”
Ms Campbell says 60 per cent of her work is now done via Skype readings arranged through her Facebook page with 30 per cent of readings via the phone and the remainder face to face.
“I go to court with some of my clients that are facing charges and I give them support to let them know they’re not alone,” she said.
As for other predictions for 2017 – they range from world affairs to her hometown.
Donald Trump will not “last” as US president, San Francisco will suffer a big quake, Wodonga Council will have a scandal and Lake Hume will get houseboats.
“Tangambalanga is going to grow, I can see large slices of land being bought up, but what they really need is a Chinese restaurant and a decent caravan park,” she said.
