Kiwi’s Market Garden owners Phoebe Thompson and David Whelan started making ice cream to order this month from locally-grown berries and fruit.
Ms Thompson said flavours included strawberry, blueberry, blackberry, raspberry and gooseberry.
BERRY GOOD: Having opened Kiwi’s Market Garden almost a year ago, Ms Thompson hails from the region while New Zealand-born Mr Whelan is a chef by trade.
“The Allans Flat strawberries are sweet and we’re making some from local peaches now too,” she said.

“We sold fresh fruit and veg at markets before we opened the shop,” Ms Thompson said.
