V8 Supercar drivers Tim Slade, James Moffat and Jack Perkins headline the celebrity field at the leading amateur event.
By his own admission, Slade is “far from great” with golf club in hand, but is looking forward to supporting the worthy cause.
The trio will play together in the final group alongside Fraser, and fellow Australian professional golfers Nathan Holman and Matthew Millar.
“If these boys can take a couple of my shots for the ambrose format I’ll be happy,” Slade laughed.
“It will be cool being paired up with them and watching those guys do what they do.”
Slade became involved with the event due to his friendship with South Australian Wade Orsmby, who plays alongside Fraser on the European Tour.
“It’s pretty cool what ‘Frase’ does for the club and raises plenty of money,” he said.
“I spend a bit of time in the region because the team (Brad Jones Racing) is in Albury and I enjoy it.
“I’ve always heard about Corowa, but never actually been before.
“It’s a very impressive facility here.”
Perkins, who previously played in the event in 2015, is delighted to return to Corowa for another round.
“This particular day is just to help Frase and the golf club out because its a community that needs these sort of things to survive,” Perkins said.
“We have a lot of sponsorship stuff pop up through the year so we might have a golf day with a corporate partner, but its great to be a part of this.”
“’Moff’ is the best golfer out of the three of us, he’s almost off scratch.
“No matter how good or bad the golfers are, you still take shots from everyone anyway.”
Perkins added he and Moffat last had a round prior to Christmas, while Slade hasn’t picked up a club for over a year.
The first Supercars test event for the trio is on February 21, while Slade will drive in the Bathurst 12-Hour event from February 3-5.
