“After attempting to fix it remotely, our technicians went to Yarrawonga to investigate the problem,” BoM supervising meteorologist Ted Williams said.
“Our technicians diagnosed a transmitter failure, so ordered a new one last Friday. The new transmitter will be available later today, our technicians will be going to the radar tomorrow and expect to have it fixed by early Wednesday afternoon.”
The bureau operates more than 60 weather watch radars, the Yarrawonga radar is the primary weather radar for northern Victoria.
