Council has secured two grants under the state government’s Community Sports Infrastructure Fund.
The funds will go towards an upgrade of the Mount Beauty Pool and construction of facilities at McNamara Reserve in Myrtleford.
“We have secured $200,000 under the Small Aquatic Projects category to upgrade the Mount Beauty Pool,” director assets Charlie Bird said.
“Council will contribute a further $110,380 for a total project value of $310,380.”
Council has also received $100,000 towards a $500,000 facility to replace the existing toilet block adjacent to the netball/tennis courts at McNamara Reserve.
The remaining $400,000 will come from council, funding change rooms with showers and toilets, an umpire change room with shower and a universally accessible public toilet with shower.
The projects will start at the beginning of the next financial year.
