WRAP convenor Jamie Kronborg said The Way of the World, a travel book by Swiss author and artist Nicolas Bouvier detailing his 1953-54 journey provided the theme.
“We’re trying to offer workshops and panel discussions that encourage those who come to explore ideas at the edge and to discover fresh and challenging things,” he said.
Big name participants include The Dressmaker novelist Rosalie Ham and Wangaratta-raised poet Peter Rose who wrote the memoir Rose Boys.
A panel discussion on Saturday will feature up to 10 young adults who will tell of their efforts to reach Australia as asylum-seekers.
Some of them visited Beechworth last July for a homestay weekend with the Border Refugee and Asylum Seeker Support group.
