Grigg, 16, and Bladwell, 13, finished the 500 metre swim and 3.6km run in a super-fast 21 minutes and 22 seconds, with seasoned performer Sandy Hector in third place in a time of 22.40.
The two boys, who train together under coach Steve Rogers, have been making great gains throughout the season with Bladwell, a member of the Triathlon Victoria Development Program, finishing his first national draft-legal race in Robina Queensland in an impressive 7th place.
He also recorded the second fastest run time over 5km.
Rogers says Bladwell has blossomed over the past six months, the result of hard work and commitment to training.
“He’s got an incredibly bright future in triathlon and I can’t wait to see him develop over the coming years,” Rogers said.
Wednesday night’s final race at Lake Hume Yacht Club attracted 37 competitors aged from 13 to over 60 years.
The club’s next event is on Sunday with an Olympic Distance Triathlon at Allans Flat, comprising a 1.5km swim, 40km ride and 10km run.
Racing gets underway at 8am.
Registrations will remain open until 4pm Saturday and can be found on the club website.
