The Panthers posted a moderate 171 against North Albury, and if the club’s much-vaunted bowling attack can’t defend it, the team is likely to be out of the top six.
“We just couldn’t find someone who could take the game on,” Lavington coach Robbie Mackinlay said.
“We’re just crying out for someone to lift the bar.”
Lavington won eight straight until collapsing for only 63 against East Albury, with Sharp unavailable.
He returned with an unbeaten 132 in a team total of 201 against Tallangatta.
Sharp made 44 against North, with number nine Brad Dalbosco on 27.
“Sam Harris and Nathan Brown two years ago both made two centuries each, but they haven’t been able to repeat that,” Mackinlay said.
“Some of the boys underneath haven’t yet come on, but it could still, I’ve got a lot of faith in the boys.”
