Albury-Wangaratta claimed last year’s crown, with Wodonga BFM’S, Rubies and Whiskas battling for top spot.
“It’s very competitive, I’d say they’re all playing A grade at home, so we’d be all playing each other regularly,” Rubies’ Janet Furst said.
“We come up against the women singularly a lot, but as a team we don’t generally play them.
“We play mid-week or Saturday afternoon, but not as those set teams.”
BFM’s held the early advantage over Rubies, with all three determined to claim the level just below A grade.
“We certainly are, we all want to go home with the trophy,” Furst said.
“We definitely want the bragging rights.”
Rubies boast a strong outfit, with Kim Sullivan and Mel Singleton among the team looking to, potentially, win promotion to next year’s top level.
