Great Aussie Holiday Resort owner Russell Diffey says the spout reached nearly 100 metres in the air.
“It was pretty spectacular, I’ve never seen anything like it,” he said.
“Sometimes you see them in winter when the air temperature is cooler, but never at this time of year, and not this big.
“It lasted for about five minutes.
“There were a few little ones, maybe 10 metres high, before the really big one formed.
“All of a sudden there it was – it was pretty mesmerising.”
