Jack Thomas claimed the crucial wicket of North Albury coach Brendan Simmons, sparking a collapse, losing 6-43 to finish on 218.
“Jack Thomas actually turned the game, he took a brilliant caught and bowled off Brendan Simmons and that helped us dry the runs up again, and gradually took wickets after that,” captain Kane Arendarcikas said.
“It would have been four off the bat, even with a long on and long off, he hit it pretty straight, we were all looking towards the boundary, and the next thing he (Thomas) had it in his hand.”
Thomas moved from New City and battled knee injuries until mid-season.
The Patties’ resurgence from third-last at Christmas to fifth has been on the back of contributions from almost every player at times, in particular Kori Stevenson.
He’s hit three half-centuries and a 49 in his last eight innings, and also has 19 wickets for the season.
