The school has organised a five-kilometre colour run on March 25, starting at the Thurgoona Equestrian Centre as an alternative to the usual fundraising methods.
Fundraising co-ordinator Kylie Tickell said the change of approach had been well-received.
“We wanted to do something different this year – we'd held fetes in the past but we decided we'd change it up this time around,” she said.
“It's healthy, good fitness for all the family, and we found that overall it will be a bit cheaper both for us and anyone looking to take part.
“It doesn't involve the six months of planning a fete usually takes, plus the kids were beside themselves when we explained what we were doing in terms of the colours.
“We're thankful to all the sponsors.”
