Despite being hard hit by losses to Turvey Park and Marrar, Phillips remains upbeat following the signing of several key players.
Ruckman Zac Sheather has returned from overseas while midfielder Jamie Clough looks a find from Belconnen.
East Wagga’s James Creasy will add some class after serving a five-match suspension while Daniel Smallwood, Jake Peters, Luke Hawkins, Lachlan Gregurke and Hayden McLaughlin have also come on board.
“I’d say we will be similar to last year,” Phillips said.
“We have lost a few players but picked up some good ones as well, particularly midfielders.”
Mitch and Jeremy Sykes, Andrew Emery, Clint Shields, John Hoey (Turvey Park) and Jesse Margosis, Jordan Matthews, Shannon Williams and Jackson Sanbrook (Marrar) have left the Demons.
