Fire broke out at the waste management centre about 3.50pm on Saturday.
Firefighters remained on scene on Sunday in a bid to bring the incident under control.
It was unclear what started the fire.
A Rural Fire Service spokesman said 61 firefighters had been on the scene at the peak of the fire.
“It looks like there's nothing suspicious,” he said on Sunday.
"Crews were alerted yesterday afternoon at about 3.50pm, with firefighters from both the RFS and Rural Fire Service attending.
“It was contained earlier this morning and crews are continuing to extinguish the fire.
"They've got a good handle on it.”
The spokesman said firefighters were focusing on hot spots.
“They will continue to monitor and patrol that fire throughout the afternoon,” he said.
“Approximately three hectares have burned.”
Water bombers were also brought in to tackle the blaze, which sent thick plumes of smoke through the area that could be seen from several kilometres away.
