Meanwhile, Tumut trainer Kerry Weir’s Levee Bank was also reinstated on Tuesday after frantic calls to Racing NSW.
The conditions for the race state horses had to be in the trainer’s stables since before September 26 last year.
Heywood says he was led astray by advice from a Sydney racing administrator when he transferred Man Of Peace to Canberra for three weeks in October while he recovered from an operation.
“I rang Racing NSW and asked whether I’d jeopardise the Championships if I left the horse with Keith Dryden and they said everything’s right … (but) I should’ve read it more closely,” he said.
However, Racing NSW informed Heywood that Man Of Peace would now be eligible to contest the $150,000 race.
