The Betoota Advocate - which purports to be 'Australia's oldest newspaper' and published in Betoota, an abandoned town in Queensland - has expanded into the beer market and Wagga’s Sportmen's Club Hotel has jumped on board.
After a night out with some friends of Betoota Advocate masterminds Errol Parker and Clancy Overell, Sporties manager Tom Stratton joked his pub should offer the new beer, known as Betoota Bitter.
“The kegs arrived two days later,” Mr Stratton laughed.
“We get a lot of students who come in specifically looking for it.
“It's just a bit of fun in the politically correct world we live in these days.”
