Sergeant Tim Mooney appealed for public help after he saw a male driver known to police entering roundabouts on Melbourne Road in the wrong direction and driving on the incorrect side of the road.
Sergeant Mooney said since then a witness who saw the white Nissan Pulsar with Queensland registration plates on Bandiana Link Road had provided a detailed statement.
“The vehicle was travelling well in excess of the speed limit,” he said.
“Swerving in and out of traffic, overtaking on the wrong side and just generally putting members of the public at risk with his driving.”
Police believed the driver had acquaintances in Albury and Wodonga and was wanted in NSW and Victoria.
Anyone with dash-cam footage of the incident, which began at 8.42am Saturday, should contact Wodonga police on (02) 6049 2600.
