With the A grade side blooding youngsters including Elyse Boyer, Darcy Millett, Phebe McLeod and Georgia Polkinghorne, Dodd said the 5-3 win over Albury Tigers had extra merit.
“It was a really special one because it was so hard fought,” Dodd said.
“We have lost a couple of really good players to Sydney Uni in Brooke Dickie and Bridget Johnston and to win without them was amazing.
“We all just had a good match with the game plan coming together on the day.”
Sharks lost to Albury Tigers by two goals in the semi-finals but turned the tables on the back of a new game plan by coach Tony Close.
“We probably went in as underdogs after losing the other week and everyone was just switched on,” Dodd said.
“Tony Close was absolutely fantastic as coach this year.
“It capped off a really good season as it took a big effort with such a new side playing for us.”
