After coming from behind to register a thrilling 4-4 draw against CR United last weekend, Norths will be looking to take all three points from its next clash.
Norths coach Jeremy Payne is feeling positive about the year ahead.
“Norths’ A grade men's side this year will be a good mix of experienced and knowledgeable players with the return of Andrew Wilkes and Ian Beath, and, young, fit and driven players in Oscar Smart, Larry Simpson and Manning Hind,” Payne said.
“We are looking to build on a good last season with consistency in our training and games.
“Over the past three years, Jordan (Thorneycroft) and I have really worked on strengthening the depth to all three men's grades.
“This will not only give us strong, competitive senior men's teams, but a united club.”
Wombats men’s coach Josh MacVean said he will boast a young, new look team with a few experienced players to guide.
They will be looking to build on last week’s 1-0 victory against Falcons.
Wodonga was the strongest in attack to start the women’s competition with its 4-2 win over Magpies and will look to do the same against CR United on Sunday.
The remaining game sees Magpies face Falcons.
Magpies were the standouts in round one in the men’s matches with an 8-1 thrashing of Wodonga.
