In an extraordinary step, rangers have released 30 previously trapped dogs in the Riverina Highlands to collect data.
For the past 12 months, the dogs have been tracked by the Riverina Local Land Services to help gauge the success of wild dog shooting and baiting programs. The collars collect 12 months of data and then fall to the ground, sending out a radio signal.
