1 SATURDAYS OF THUNDER
Kids and carts will once again be roaring downhill in Corowa for the Australian Billy Cart Championships. There’s some seriously aerodynamic machinery on show – blink and you might miss it.
2 FOOTY FESTIVITIES
Two games on Good Friday, one on Easter Saturday and another two on Easter Sunday, there's ample opportunity to catch some Ovens and Murray footy this weekend. The two Friday night games, Lavington vs Wodonga at Lavington and Wangaratta vs Wodonga Raiders at Wangaratta look to be big.
3 HORSING AROUND
Beechworth's Golden Horseshoe is one of the biggest events on their calendar, and this year they're bringing a touch of Bollywood to proceedings! Enjoy the parades, markets and Easter egg hunt over the long weekend.
4 PEDAL TO THE METAL
Head to the High Country for a blast of speed and adrenaline at the Alpine Raceway in Towong. The Mt Beauty Car Club are hosting their major meeting for the season on Saturday and Sunday from 11:30am.
5 FINE TASTES
If you love the finer things in life, head down to the Easter Family Festival at the Brown Brothers Estate in Milawa. Live music, wine tastings, gourmet food, markets and kids activities await!
6 GET OUTSIDE
Fine weather has been forecast for the weekend, why not get out and see a bit of nature. The Upper Murray, Bright, and Yarrawonga are all fantastic places to sleep under the stars – why not do it before it gets too cold?
7 TREASURE TROVE
Spirits are high at Falls Creek after an early dump of snow, so why not share the feeling and go Easter egg hunting on Sunday morning with your fellow snow bunnies?
8 BOTANICAL TUNES
If you're a bit worn out by Sunday afternoon, take a load off and take in Music in the Gardens at the Albury Botanical Gardens. Eat food, enjoy a glass of BYO wine and relax on the lawn. You've earned this.
9 FLYING HIGH
This weekend marks the annual Back to Holbrook Fly-In, commemorating the Riverina airfield's significant role in the Australian ultralight community. Holbrook Airfield was the venue for the the first national ultralight fly-in back in 1990.
10 BRIGHT IDEA
Bright is one of the most enjoyable destinations in North East Victoria. Gourmet food, beer and wine is readily available, as well as experiences like the Red Stag Deer and Emu Farm. Kids can feed the deer or, if you fancy a slightly longer drive, take in the scenery at nearby Mt Buffalo.
