Kitchen tool used in house break-in

TWO people have been hit with a meat tenderiser during a home invasion at Mulwala.

The victims – a 36-year-old woman and 75-year-old man – were asleep inside the Jones Street home early Sunday morning.

A man armed with the tenderised entered the property and assaulted the pair, injuring them, about 2.30am.

He fled the scene.

The man attended the Albury police station on Monday and was arrested and charged.

He was bailed to the Corowa Local Court on Wednesday.

Police are also investigating a glassing incident at the Yarrawonga Mulwala Golf Club Resort on Sunday afternoon.

A 10-year-old received a cut to his right leg after an empty schooner was backhanded across a table.

The offender was about 45 and police seek witnesses.
