Despite being level at the end of the third term, the home side tired in the final stages of the game to eventually go down, 71-59.
Import Toccara Ross led the way with 16 points and eight rebounds, but turned the ball over 13 times.
Steph Gorman also impressed with 13 points and eight rebounds, while Adijat Adams had 13 points and eight rebounds, before being fouled out of the game.
Coach Jim Wilson was disappointed with the result, but was proud of the effort shown by his players.
“We’ve spoken about making teams uncomfortable when they come here and Geelong did a really good job of pressuring us,” he said.
“To the girls credit, they hung in, made a couple of baskets, got a couple of stops defensively and kept clawing their way back.”
