After dropping their first two matches to Jindera and Howlong, the Swampies needed a scalp and things looked dire when they trailed the visitors by 29 points in the second quarter.
But Matt Klemke’s side got a sniff just before half-time and slowly worked their way back into the contest through Josh Gaynor, Rhett Thomson and Shannon Terlich.
They hit the lead just before three-quarter-time and kicked the only three goals of the final term to open their winning account.
First-gamer Jonathan Male showed promise and Brent Ohlin was solid in the ruck and up forward.
Rand-Walbundrie-Walla had a winner in attack in Nick Turner who kicked five goals while Tom Simmons and Justin Gordon also played well.
Henty went into the clash without the unavailable Heath Ohlin and lost Beau Connell (leg) early.
