Police attended Brodie Ray’s Thurgoona Street home last week and spoke to the 26-year-old.
After searching his unit, police arrested and charged him with unrelated matters.
Detective Inspector Winston Woodward said police then attended a home in Jacaranda Street.
“The firearm was recovered,” he said.
“The male was charged with supply and possession of (a) prohibited firearm.”
Ray’s matter was heard in Albury court on Monday.
He faces seven gun charges, including supplying the rifle at some point between March 15 and April 12, and will return to court in May.
