The 24-year-old oozed class against Wangaratta, racking up 28 possessions.
“He does a lot of the grunt work, but what he does do is he brings other players into the game,” co-coach Chris Kennedy said.
“He’s just a quality player and he’s been a quality addition to our footy club.”
Whiley is 188 centimetres, but he’s silky-smooth and pacy.
He’s the Pigeons’ Mr Fixit, cleaning up where needed.
“Yeah mate, I’m loving it, footy was number one for a long time, but it’s taken a back seat to work,” he said.
“We play footy to have a good time and definitely with the good bunch of blokes here, we’re having a lot of fun.”
Whiley will be one of the first selected for interleague level.
“Yeah mate, I’d love to play,” he said.
