Councillor Diane Shepheard raised the issue, urging it be investigated further.
“It’s been happening now for the last 10 years and each time there’s been a concerted effort by the Yackandandah community to rid themselves of the wasps,” she said.
“One of the (folk festival) singers asked someone to stand beside them with an EpiPen, because there were so many wasps around and they were concerned they would need to be given it.
“I think it’s a tourism issue, so I’m asking for your support in doing that investigation.”
Infrastructure Services Director Ian Ellet took the matter on notice and will address it in following council meetings.
