Money to “upgrade the school facilities” by the end of 2019 was announced in Tuesday’s budget.
Acting principal Fran Heath said she was looking forward to finding out exactly how the cash was to be used to improve the school, built in 1954.
“We’ve got an incredibly old school that would benefit from technological advances and beautifying the school,” she said.
“We’d have to look at the needs of the children and how it could better their education.”
The school had received smaller grants in the past for repairs but Tuesday’s major announcement was the result of years of campaigning.
