Wombats and Falcons played out a 2-2 draw in Hockey Albury-Wodonga’s division one women’s competition on Wombats club day on Sunday.

Falcons’ Mikayla Blackshaw and Wombats’ Emma Hooppell stood out.

Wombats played a determined team game to take on the competition leader.

Magpies edged out Wodonga 2-0, while CR United took down Norths 3-1.

In the men’s, CR United and Norths finished an entertaining clash locked at 3-3.

Norths capitalised on a penalty corner at the 18-minute mark, but 10 minutes later United equalised.

The lead see-sawed in the second half with a goal to United, then two goals in quick succession to Norths.

However, United’s Andrew Monte struck late, giving him a hat trick to secure a 3-3 draw for his side.

Falcons held out Wombats 3-2, while Wodonga continued its good form with a 4-2 win over Magpies.
