Dream on.
If any breed of cattle was to challenge the market dominance of Angus it would be Wagyu and even this will not happen – well not at least in my lifetime.
It would take decades before any breed could hope to have the genetic power and performance breeding backing inherent within the Angus breed.
Other breeds certainly have qualities at times better than Angus.
However, across the board, the black polled British cattle breed has notched up the runs.
No, they will not be suitable in all conditions, however, these are few and far between.

If the highly efficient poultry and pork industries are an indicator, feed conversion and growth rates will come from hybrids.
