RUTHERGLEN Cats football club president Greg Lumby thought $20,000 or $30,000 might be raised through a cancer awareness match on Saturday.

Instead, it appears $90,000 has been amassed for the Albury Wodonga Regional Cancer Centre.
The fundraising was inspired by past coach Karl Jacka, who lost his battle against stomach cancer in January.
“He was always on about small wins and unfortunately he didn’t have many small wins, but yesterday was a massive win from him,” Mr Lumby said on Sunday.
The auction of special guernseys worn on Saturday raised $33,000 with Jacka’s No.37 attracting $3500.
A high tea held at the match drew $20,000, including an anonymous $10,000 donation, $20,000 was donated by television’s The Footy Show.
Engineering business owner Ricky Hiskins raised $8000 through shaving off his beard and hair, which had not been trimmed in 13 months.
