Natalie makes the hour-and-a-half trip from Tatong, south east of Benalla, to train and play with Murray United’s under 14s team.
She’s not fazed by being the only girl in what is otherwise an all boys team.
In fact, this season, Natalie is the only girl playing at the club after successfully trialling for her spot the past three seasons.
Natalie can continue to compete on the same field as the boys until under 16s, before deciding her next move.
“Sometimes it can be scary because they can be much bigger, but I just got used to it I guess,” she said.
“I like it here, there’s lots of new people and opportunities and the people here are really nice and helpful.
Natalie has played most of her time at Murray United in defence after being a forward when she first started.
“I don’t mind what position I play because I get to learn new things in each position,” she said.
