With Azzi medal contender Jye Shields leading the way, the Lions slammed on 10.1 to 2.3 in the final term to score their best win of the season.
Coach Adam Eady said it was a crucial win with a handful of sides jostling for finals spots.
“After losing to CDHBU last week, we needed to get a couple of wins in the next month,” he said.
“It was a crunch match.
“Our centre clearances were right up and every time we went forward in the last quarter we seemed to score.
“We certainly didn’t expect to win like that.”
Shields, who has been in the club’s best five players on six occasions this season, cut the Magpies to ribbons with his class around the packs while John Robbins kicked eight goals.
Peter Cook, Trent Perczyk, Scott Fagan and Drew Mortlock were sidelined.
