After a sold-out Australian tour in 2014, Quatro will return to headline the ultimate rock n roll line-up – which includes Baby Animals, The Screaming Jets, The Angels, Moving Pictures and Chocolate Starfish – which was confirmed this week, and tickets went on sale form Thursday, June 8.
There are few female performers who have a career as successful and versatile as Quatro.
She has never stopped working in one guise or another, whether it is playing her solo rock show to packed houses, hosting her own show on the BBC Radio 2, performing on the West End or penning hit songs.
“I get the biggest high you can imagine performing onstage – it’s a beautiful, blessed thing,” she said in a recent UK interview.
The enigmatic performer has sold more than 55 million records. For a seven-year period in the 1970s she was featured in the British charts for an incredible 101 weeks.
Her hits include The Wild One, 48 Crash, Devil Gate Drive, She’s in Love with You, If You Can’t Give Me Love and Stumblin’ In.
“I will retire when I go onstage, shake my ass and there is silence,” Quatro says, with a smile.
Promoter Duane McDonald started Red Hot Summer eight years ago, and has put together impressive line-ups.
“We have had wonderful support over the past eight years since we launched the Red Hot Summer Tour,” he says.
“We wanted to make sure we could bring top-notch music to regional areas and audiences have embraced that concept.
“We can’t thank music fans enough for their support – we look forward to continuing to bring fantastic festival experiences to regional Australia.”
