'Chum' has spent 70 years of his life at Albury Sportsground and wasn't about to miss the opportunity to catch up with former Tigers Joe Ratcliffe, 85, Barney Cain, 80, Maurie Gulson, 78, and Jack Withers, 96, at the club on Thursday.
After a knee injury cut short of his playing career, 'Chum' became property steward for the 1956 premiership team under Jack Jones.
He later handed that role over to his son, Ross, who still holds the position at the sportsground.
The former Club Person of the Year also spent time as a trainer and boundary and goal umpire at Albury.
‘Chum’ recalled many highs and lows at the club including the premiership years and the financially tough times when the Tigers battled for survival.
He regards club legends Lance Mann, Reg Gard and Jimmy Mathews as three of the best Albury players he has seen and Jones and Paul Spargo as his favourite coaches.
