So the fact St Augustine’s in Wodonga celebrates 20 years of its art show in August is an impressive one.
Co-ordinator Rhonda Lockhart and the committee will be joined this year by the former principal and parents, with whom it all began.
“It wasn’t based at the school because they didn’t have the facilities; it was based in the Parish centre at Sacred Heart,” she said.
“The opening night is a great adults’ event; it’s really nice for the parents to catch up.
“It’s an art show on the calendar people know about.”
Mrs Lockhart said the feature artist this year would be Linda D'Agostino from Wangaratta, whose work will be part of a raffle on the night.
“Every year we have a $600 acquisitive art prize; we had 180 artworks from professional and amateur artists last year,” she said.
“We raised just over $7000 for the school.”
The opening night of the art show is Friday, August 18 with the show to stay open to the public on August 19 and 20. For tickets to the opening night, email staugartshow@gmail.com
