Albury member Greg Aplin said the city as a part of Evocities would share in a $1 million from the state government’s Regional Growth – Marketing and Promotion Fund.
Albury City mayor and Evocities chair Kevin Mack said each of the six cities had secured $50,000 – a total of $300,000 for Evocities.
“We’re looking at ramping up the campaign, particularly in Sydney,” he said.
“We have a variety of options now, we have a diverse range of billboards.”
Cr Mack said they would also look at using a radio personality like Ray Hadley or Alan Jones as an ambassador for the region.
He said the Evocities campaigns already attracted people to the region, especially to Orange and Bathurst.
“We need to attract people further afield to Wagga and Albury and we can use what we have as a strength,” Cr Mack said.
