The competition at Albury Entertainment Centre entered its final week, with solo instrumental sections dominating the opening three days of the music program.
Music co-ordinator Faith Casley-Porter said the schedule had run smoothly so far with 67 sections and 271 entrants up to Monday evening.
Orchestras, bands and choirs will feature later this week, which adds more challenges for the organisers.
“We have more patrons coming along to watch, we have more children to co-ordinate and move around,” Mrs Casley-Porter said.
“They become our very big days as we move people on and off the stage and through even just seating and making sure that everyone is where they need to be at the correct time to be able to do their thing.”
Program highlights include the community band sections on Wednesday evening and the championship events on Friday.
The final two categories are the Ruth Whyte Memorial Bequest instrumental solos, which carry prizemoney of $500 each.
