The Roos midfielder polled 27 votes, including seven best-on-ground performances, to finish ahead of Thurgoona’s Aydan Brown, who polled 20 votes.

Though they didn’t make the finals, it seems there’s still plenty of talent in Yackandandah.

The club boasted winners in the under-17s (Johan Jarrett, 29 votes) and reserves (James Davies, 23), as well as leading goalkickers in the seniors (Trent Castles, 111 goals) and thirds (Jay Hillary, 163 goals).

Dale also took out the Dunn’s Cranes Player of the Year, polling 79 votes.

In the reserves, Wahgunyah’s Liam McDonell (23 votes) finshed behind Yackandandah’s Davies, while Lions teammate Brett O’Rourke was the leading goalkicker with 101 goals.

The under-17s was an all-Roos affair, with Jarratt finishing ahead of his leading goalkicker teammate Hillary by three votes.

In the under-14’s, Chiltern’s Jacob Murphy took out the best and fairest with 40 votes, finishing ahead of equal-runners up Jordan McKenzie (Rutherglen) and Jackson Spiers (Wodonga Saints), who polled 22 votes apiece.

Beechworth’s Liam Stephens was the leading goalkicker with 46 goals.

Senior minor premiers Thurgoona took out the club championship with 897 points.

Tallangatta’s John Maddock won the Volunteer of the Year award, while Chiltern’s Mark Stephens was awarded Club Umpire of the Year.

Wahgunyah’s Emma Witham took out the A-Grade netball best-and-fairest thanks to a dominant season in which she registered eight best-on-court performances.

Witham’s 31 votes kept her ahead of Thurgoona’s Ashlea Jacobs.

A strong run through the second half of the season helped propel Barnawartha’s Janine Ramage, with 10 votes in the final five games rounding out her total of 27 votes.

Mitta’s Jaclyn O’Connor polled second with 23 votes.

In the C-grade netball, a mid-season burst of form helped Tallangatta’s Kristin McKimmie to the top of the count with 30 votes.

Thurgoona’s Kassidy Schultz was the runner-up with 20.

In the 18 and under grade, 11 best-on-court performances, including eight in a row, helped Thurgoona’s Julia Farrah to a convincing win with 35 votes.

Wahgunyah’s Ruby Crawford and Yackandandah’s Claudia Pan were runners-up with 27 votes each.
