The Demons took little notice of ladder positions at the end of the home and away series as they charged into another grand final.
Coach Evan Nicholas said it was a strong all-round performance.
“It was hard to pick best players because everyone did their bit at various stages,” Nicholas said.
“We were pretty happy across the board.
“I thought we played four quarters of good, hard finals footy.”
With defenders James Barlee and James Paton playing in the same side for only the second time this season, Corryong’s defence was rock solid.
They were instrumental in the home team only managing 10 goals for the match.
The consistent Matt McNamara was outstanding in the midfield, Tom Nicholas held sway in the ruck and Mitch Harris and Nathan Grimes kicked seven goals between them.
Key forward Adrian Rijnbeek sat out the second half after hurting his neck early in the match.
“Besides two lapses when Bullioh kicked two or three quick goals, I thought we defended really well,” he said.
“The ground was in good condition despite the rain and it was pleasing to be able to match their run.”
Bullioh’s running game failed to get going with Clint Ried and Brandyn Phillips among its few winners.
Ryan Brown held Corryong dangerman Jarrod Williams to two goals.
Jake Fisher-Curnow had his moments under the packs but was unable to exert his usual influence with Corryong dominating possession.
Damaging midfielder Hamish Clark was on and off the ground with a leg injury and could be in doubt for Saturday’s preliminary final against Border-Walwa.
Nicholas said Corryong were looking forward to the week-off.
“I reckon two weeks off will do us the world of good,” he said.
“David Low was kicked by a cow during the week and didn’t play so he will be right in a fortnight.
“We will have a few things to discuss at the selection table, but that’s a good position to be in.”
Bullioh will host Border-Walwa on Saturday with the Magpies chasing their first grand final appearance since 2002.
Magpie coach Craig Bosley will be hoping for more rain this week with his side impressing in heavy conditions this season.
