The shire is also represented by two NSW MPs, Albury MLA Greg Aplin and Murray MLA Adrian Piccoli.
Councillor-elect Ruth McRae said the shire also looked towards three regional centres – Albury, Griffith and Shepparton.
Mr Aplin said he had liaised with Mr Piccoli, a Nationals member who will be replaced at a by-election on October 14.
His seat covers the old Jerilderie Shire.
