Albury City’s Samuel Hovar will contest the under 13s championship, while Melrose’s Isaac Piltz and St Pats’ Ben White were both selected in the under 14s squad.
Hovar and White will both play in the midfield, while Piltz has performed well as a striker.
Piltz’s father Ricky said it’s the first time the trio have played at a national event.
“Last school holidays, they all played for Riverina in the state titles and got selected from there to play in the NSW country team over a process of a couple of camps to make the final 16,” Ricky said.
“It puts the kids from the country on the national radar.
“It’s a big investment on their half and also a big investment on our half as parents, but as long as they keep going and keep enjoying it, it’s hard to say no to them,” he added.
In the under 14s, NSW Country will face NSW Metro White in their opening game on Monday, before clashes with Queensland Country, South Australia Blue, Northern NSW Blue, Football West and Tasmania.
The under 13s will meet Northern Territory in the opener and will also take on Northern NSW Country, NSW Metro White, Queensland Country, Tasmania and Football West.
