Nathan Hodsoll was just a one-year-old when Richmond won the 1980 Grand Final.
On Saturday, his three-month-old son Jack watched the Tigers triumph over the Adelaide Crows, in the team’s first taste of victory in 37 years.
Mr Hodsoll hopes his son will not have to wait as long between victories as he did.
“We’ve waited a long time but he hasn’t,” he said.
Sisters Lisa Truscott and Michelle Kaye said they were third-generation Richmond supporters and were still young when they first tasted Yellow and Black victory.
“It’s amazing, absolutely amazing,” Ms Truscott said.
“We waited a long time.”
For Albury’s Zach Smith said it was a nerve-wracking lead up to the final but a great ending.
“I’ve been waiting my whole life for it,” he said.
