Ms Tracey Esler, when commenting on the recent Adani rally in Albury, was not entitled to speak for me and thousands of decent Australians when she claimed that the “Australian Government is committing economic treason against every Australian” through its endorsement of the Adani investment in northern Queensland.

I support the generation of jobs in a depressed region which this development will foster. Moreover, the proposed railway will deliver immense benefits far beyond just the mine.
As well, I am not comfortable with denying millions of struggling Indians access to electricity. Why should Indians have to rely on burning dried dung for heating and cooking because some wealthy Australians indulge in feel good virtue signalling as a result of being taken in hook, line and sinker by Green Left propaganda?

Loyal customers let down
Attending the Hume Bank outlet at the Birallee shopping centre on Tuesday, I was informed that it will close on November 17. What is the reason for the sudden closing, I would like to know.
A lot of low income earners and pensioners live around the Birallee area, and a lot of these people bank and use the ATM at the Birallee shopping centre. Also, many of the Birallee shop owners bank at the branch, depositing their daily takings.
In general the Hume Bank’s Birallee branch is extremely useful and is well used by people in West Wodonga. So why is the bank closing such a well used asset?
I have been a loyal Hume member for over 40 years, and if the Birallee branch closes many people in West Wodonga will bank else where. Travelling to White Box Rise and Centro Plaza branches is an inconvienance and many Hume members don't have transport to get there. I appeal to the Hume Bank board to change their minds and keep the Birallee branch open.

You can’t trust poll
Media reports suggest voters in the seats of Ovens Valley, Euroa and Eildon, held respectively by Tim McCurdy, Stephanie Ryan and Cindy McLeish, back Daniel Andrews’ euthanasia bill. This is based on a poll conducted by Andrew Denton's Go Gentle Australia group, which is a bit like asking Dracula to survey the district on the need for more blood banks.
Similar public support was suggested for Lord Falconer's Assisted Dying bill in the UK in 2015 but it dropped dramatically to just 43 per cent when arguments against were heard. The bill was defeated 330 to 118. Public attitudes change dramatically once some of the key practical implications of assisted suicide are considered.
Specialist physician at Melbourne's Alfred Hospital Dr Karen Hitchcock is scathing of Denton's boast of having “researched the issue for eight months”, when the country is “full of people who have spent decades seriously considering the complex issues around euthanasia.”
She said” “I have cared for hundreds of dying patients and no one has ever died screaming or begging me to kill them. I have been criticised for using the word 'kill', but if the real act is so offensive we should stop advocating that doctors do it.”
When the genie is out of the bottle, will MPs McCurdy, Ryan and McLeish be there to replace it ? That's the problem.
