The TAFE NSW, Wodonga TAFE and industry-hosted event, allowed potential students to gain an insight into the careers of industry professionals including Miss Amelie’s David Kapay, SS&A Club’s Justin Hope, Star Hotel’s Jamie Cox, Settlers Tavern’s Nick Gosnick, and the Atura’s Anna-mei Telmo.
Sisters Brooke Ridley and Belinda Griffiths said they were looking to enrol in a course and thought the event could shed light on the reality of working as a chef.
“They have some amazing speakers,” Ms Ridley said.
“I’ve always been passionate about becoming a chef.
“I thought this would be good networking and a great chance to talk to people who are already in the industry.”
Ms Griffiths said the event provided a lot of information and was a great opportunity to be inspired by regional talent.
“There are so many talented chefs in the area working with great local produce as well,” she said.
